Tesla Model Y Is Europe Top-selling Car So Far In 2023
The Tesla Model Y has made a significant leap in the sales charts, becoming the top-selling car in Europe in the first three months of 2023. According to Jato Dynamics data, the American electric SUV sold 71,683 units in Q1, outpacing the Dacia Sandero and Volkswagen T-Roc. ...

This is a notable change from the same period last year, when the Model Y was only ranked 31st.

The surge in Tesla's sales is a clear indication of the growing popularity of electric vehicles in Europe.

The trend towards electric vehicles is not limited to Tesla alone.

Overall, the market for new cars in Europe saw a 26% increase in March, with over 1.4 million units registered.

This increase was attributed to the accumulation of orders from previous months that were not delivered earlier due to the lack of components.

In the first three months of 2023, over 3.2 million cars were sold, the highest figure since 2019, with electric cars leading the growth.

The volume of electric cars sold increased by 43% in March, with nearly 220,000 units registered.

Their market share in the first quarter, at 13.4%, is also the highest ever recorded in the same period in Europe.

Tesla's success in the electric vehicle market is also reflected in its sales figures.

In March, Tesla models accounted for 28% of electric car registrations, while Volkswagen's electric vehicles also performed well, with a 57% increase in volume compared to the previous year.

The Saic Group, which includes brands such as MG and Maxus, also recorded positive results.

The MG 4, in particular, helped the brand enter the top 10 of electric car sales, obtaining fourth place in the March ranking.

Toyota also recorded impressive growth during the quarter, with the bZ4X selling more than 3,700 units and the brand growing by 437%, despite remaining marginal in terms of volumes of electric vehicles.
