According to the company, unauthorized third parties were able to access some information within the customer database.
In response to the breach, Hyundai Italia launched an investigation and took immediate action by blocking the affected server and removing it from the network.
The Guarantor for the Protection of Personal Data was also promptly notified.
The automaker has stated that the hackers may have gained access to customers' email addresses, telephone numbers, and chassis numbers of their vehicles.
