New Ford Transit Courier Electric Version
Ford is set to launch the next generation of the Transit Courier, and for the first time, an all-electric version will be available. The E-Transit Courier will be Ford's third electric van, joining the E-Transit and E-Transit Custom in its EV lineup. ...

The new Transit Courier and its electric variant offer more cargo space, thanks to a redesigned body that maximizes space-saving drive components such as the electric motor and battery.

The new compact electric transport van offers up to 2.9 cubic meters of cargo space, compared to the original 2.3 cubic meters of its combustion engine counterparts.

Additionally, the loading area is now 18 centimeters longer, measuring 1.8 meters in length.

A through-loading opening is also available for the Transit Courier, which can extend the loading length to up to 2.6 meters by folding down the passenger seat.

The E-Transit Courier comes equipped with an additional storage compartment in the front, commonly known as the "frunk," which can hold up to 44 liters of equipment such as charging cables, first-aid kits, and other tools.

Moreover, the maximum payload has increased from 549 kilograms to up to 700 kilograms.

For those needing more, the van can tow up to 750 kilograms.

The diesel and petrol models have a maximum payload of 678 kilograms as standard, but it can be increased to 845 kilograms on request.

Trailers may weigh up to 1,000 kilograms for petrol engines and up to 1,100 kilograms for diesel engines.

The E-Transit Courier is powered by an electric motor with 100 kW (136 hp).

It offers a stronger recuperation system, which enables "One-Pedal Driving" and minimizes the need for brakes.

The system also feeds back some electricity into the battery.

The E-Transit Courier can reach speeds of up to 145 km/h on the freeway.

The van can be charged via an 11 kW wall box or with a fast charger that can provide up to 100 kW.

The E-Transit Courier can be fully charged in under six hours via a home connection, charged to 80 percent in 35 minutes at a fast charging station, and a ten-minute charging process can increase its range by 87 kilometers.

Ford has yet to announce the exact range and other battery-related details.

The new Transit Courier's interior is connected and features two 12-inch displays and the latest Ford SYNC 4 infotainment system.

Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also wireless on board.

The new E-Transit Courier's exterior design is reminiscent of the F-150 Lightning and the recently introduced Elektro-Explorer.

It features a LED light bar and a chrome-plated, steeply angled grille with integrated headlights.

The van also comes in a range of exterior colors, including Cactus Grey, Fantastic Red, and Bursting Green.

Customers who prefer conventional drives can choose between a diesel with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder and 100 hp and two petrol engines with a one-liter turbo three-cylinder and 100 or 125 hp.

The van comes with six gears that can be shifted manually ex works, and a seven-speed DSG is available as an option for the 125 hp petrol engine.
