Ford recently unveiled the new Explorer that will be launched in 2024. Its first electric model cut and sewn primarily for European markets and the first based on the VW Group's MEB platform.

Given the success of the Mustang Mach-E, the people at Ford are preparing to present their second electric model next year, which will probably be called the Capri. The teaser central photo shows it to the right of the Explorer. This electric model will use the MEB platform, and the name will be chosen due to some retro references. However, the electric Capri will be a crossover, unlike the coupe archetype that was particularly popular in Europe in the 1970s-80s and offered sporting thrills at an affordable price, with great racing successes.

Regarding the mechanical parts and electrical system, it is likely that the model will be equipped with counterparts of the Explorer. Finally, it is worth noting that Ford is moving dynamically towards the complete electrification of its range. In the US, it is already second behind Tesla and ahead of everyone else.
