It was introduced in 1984 and is about to close its four decades of uninterrupted production. And while many would assume it's time to retire, Toyota has announced that it will remain in production for the foreseeable future and until further notice.
The Japanese 4×4 is equipped with a 4.5-liter V8 diesel engine, which has many years behind it and has reached incredible levels of reliability. However, there are talks of replacing it with the addition of a four-cylinder petrol engine with a hybrid system.
The even more interesting fact is that Toyota has stopped its production temporarily so that it can meet the demand which in countries like Australia is particularly high.
Over the years, there have been several developments in the salon, such as the 6.1-inch touch screen, dual airbags, air conditioning and safety systems such as ESP and Traction Control.
