Hyundai Sold Over Half A Million Cars In Europe In 2022

The company managed to overcome industry hurdles with strong sales results and ended 2022 with impressive numbers, with 518,566 vehicles, representing an increase of 0.5% compared to 2021, capturing a record 4.6% market share in Europe.
Hyundai's 2022 global sales totaled 3.94 million vehicles, up 1.4% year-on-year. Driven by demand for electric vehicles, the company saw a 19% increase in sales of zero-emission vehicles. In addition, market shares continued to grow with record performances in Germany, Spain, Italy, France and the United Kingdom.
The record increase in market share in Europe was supported by excellent performance in all of Hyundai's 'G5' markets: Germany, Spain, Italy, France and the UK.
Hyundai models accounted for 4% of all vehicles sold in Germany. This number corresponds to 105,074 new vehicle registrations in the country. In terms of sales of electric vehicles, Hyundai took the third place in the market.
At the same time, Hyundai reached a record market share of 7.3% in Spain. This number amounts to 59,503 new registered vehicles. In Italy, Hyundai's market share reached 3.1% in 2022, with 41,017 new Hyundai vehicles sold in the country. Also in France, Hyundai gained a market share of 3.1%. Sales increased by 4.1% compared to the previous year, with a total of 44,106 new Hyundai vehicles registered in the country.
Accordingly, Hyundai also experienced significant success in the UK market. The company delivered 80,419 vehicles, representing a market share of 5% – the highest in the UK to date. Year-over-year sales were up 15%.
